I guess because we (Americans) logged onto the USA website - so we figured everyone here was from the USA. There are different sites for U.K. Austrailia, Germany, France, etc....
I wasn't aware all the English sites pooled here into the one site by default. Sorry about that. It's Yahoo!'s fault. They should have mentioned that.
I think I have a solution. In our head line in CAPS before we start our questions with UK-the person asking the question is coming from the United Kingdom AU-The person asking the questions is coming from Austrailia. EU - the person asking the question is coming from the European Union, unless they want to specially identify their country: DE - The person asking the question is coming from Germany, FR - The person posting the question is from France. And
To be fair - Americans should not be left off the hook. The should include US - in caps before posting a question.
Not only will this make it easier, knowing where in the world the asker is coming from - It can leave us open to making new International friends.

People tend to forget that the world is only as small as you make it. Americans, in general, don't think globally. We tend to not think outside of the area in which we live, and certainly not outside of the US.
On the less philosophical side, when you join Yahoo Answers, your country of origin is chosen for you based on your IP address. You are able to change it manually by scrolling down to where it says "Yahoo Answers International..." I think a lot of Americans are assuming that it's just Americans in the US section, and don't realize they can join in Answers in other countries.

Great question,,, Americans AS A WHOLE don't know much about other country's or cultures. In part its their culture and being a large country. We have 50 states with the same language and very similar culture as our neighbors in the USA not 50 different country's with different cultures and languages.

by way of fact multiple us % the alternative from the homepage to be sure all English (language) questions...while that occurs, if somebody would not contain of their submit what us of a they're posting from or approximately, that is basic for everyone to assume the guy is posting approximately 'their' domicile us of a...till the language you employ on your submit supplies it away. For myself, i % to view all questions in English so I see greater activity on the positioning. i will see questions from no longer in ordinary terms the U. S. yet Australia, uk/eire, India, and anyplace else Y!A has an English speaking internet site. the downside is, i won't have the capacity to tell which us of a everyone seems to be posting from or approximately till they declare it of their question.
