Does anyone else feel self-conscious about their height??? i feel so small when i walk the halls of school LOL. wish i was taller.

oh no , i dont think im going to grow any more because i am 17. and my dad is 5'11 and my mom is 5'1 so i ended up somewhere in between.

5"4 or 5"5 is about the average you can get in height for a female. For men, I think it's about 5"7 or 6".
I'm the same height as you and still feel short when I stand next to people taller than me even by an inch.
I'm taller than my parents but my younger brother who is 17 too is taller than me, I feel short standing next to him.
I've heard somewhere that when you reach a certain age, you shrink a little in height, whether it's true or not, it sounds scary!
I make the most of my height by wearing heels (it helps a little!) and it helps knowing there are those who are shorter than you in height!

I guess it depends on whether you're a guy or a girl. 5'4" is a little on the short side if you are a guy, but it is actually considered the "average" height for a woman. I'm 5'4" myself and I always thought it was the perfect height. Not too short, but also short enough so I can wear cute high heels and still not be taller than my boyfriend, who is 5'10" (the "average" man's height, apparently...) Be proud of your size. I know a lot of really tiny girls, as well as super-tall girls, who would kill for your height.

You didn't say how old you were, or male or female. It's hard to judge "average" without those facts. Most likely when you reach full growth it will be similar to your mother or father's side of the family. If they are vastly different, then you could become any height and won't know until you're in your late teens.

I would say a nice height for a female but way too short for a male.
Its tall in my world cos I am only 4feet 11inches and way to old to grow any more.

I use to have your same problem in highschool! Heck im 7 months pregnant and i still feel self conscious. But no 5'4 is a great size! I'm 5'8 and i would love to be just a little shorter!

nope but I know hoe u feel cuz i'm like 5'1 in 11 grade sometimes I feel small but then i get over. you could always wear heels but then you feet will always hurt then later on life you hace feet problem because you always wore heels.I say learn to love to being short u can always hide in places that tall people can't and you move through crowds faster.learn to love being short i did and its not bad once u get use to it

Nope, that's how tall I am yet there are still people who are smaller than me! I am a girl and happy with being petite, you don't want to be too tall anyways (just my opinion)! I felt the same as you, and just thought bless the people who are smaller they must be feeling worse or they probably don't care one bit which is how you should think!
