when i click on a game icon and insert the disk for the game my computer shuts down!! what is happening ?

how can i fix this problem?? it's very aggrivating!

should i turn it off when not in use? will that fix it?

I would saw your power supply is going bad. And if there is a chance your computer is overheating then some parts inside could be getting damaged also.
