The ABS light turns on and i found out that my speed sensor was damaged. I drove the car for a couple of months now because I dont have enough money to pay for repairs. The car drives fine but it's just the ABS light is always on. What does a speed sensor do anyway? If it's damaged, what will happen to my car? I will repair it next week but just wondering what will it do to my car if i have a damaged speed sensor cus so far it's ok driving.

You have no ABS at the moment, because the ABS system needs to know how fast the car is going so it can calculate your rate of decelleration - this is what it uses to determine if it needs to cut in or not. I recommend that you fix it ASAP.

There is a simple way of doing this. Just pull the ABS fuse. This will disable the system, but it's not working properly now and is more dangerous to leave turned on anyway. You're brakes will work just fine without it and the light will stay off until you can afford to fix it.

That % sensor isn't for the spedometer,Its for the ABS,, it received't impression it in any respect... yet in case you get in a panic provide up interior the rain or snow,, the sensor thats thats rigged , the brakes received't pulsate to save from skidding,,and could will positioned you right into a spin,, I severly sugest you restoration the problem,,
