Or does he have a responsibility to all americans? Abe Lincoln filled his posts with people who wanted to be president...all parties, and many who were his biggest critics on the handling of the civil war. Could Bush have benefitted from some diversity in his cabinet? Would he receive as much criticism over his handling of the war, and his secrecy as president? When did we get away from engaging opposition in the debate, and turn to a 'must be agreeable to get anything done'?

You make a really good point. I read a book about Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin, and she talked about how Lincoln benefitted from having people with all points of view in his administration. He even had some of his political opponents! The problem is, though, that Lincoln was smart and open-minded, and that's not how I would describe Bush.

He - like all government officials, whether we know their names or not - should, in theory, ethics, and practice, be responsible to God first and foremost; his conscience; and then... only then but definitely AND... the people of his country, including those opposed to him and with him for the long haul.

Impeachment of one man is not the answer to a COUNTRY full of people whose beliefs are going down the toilet. Prayer is... heartfelt, in line with the Word, and from a lot of people. People turning back to God and doing things His way would solve SO many of today's problems and would, at the same time, help keep the leaders of the country accountable. We aren't the conscience of this or any other man... it's not our job to BE such... it's our job to support the good decisions and pray about the ones that go against the (biblical part of the) moral fabric of society.

Bush is a very selfish person he just sees himself, well the truth shall prevail and it seems that the truth is comming up and his true colours are showing,
it is high time he lets people live in this world and not keep everything for himself share ideas and live like civilised humans,we do not need and do not want war the last which took place was enough of a blow for the human race.

Bush would absolutely have benefitted from diversity in his cabinet... if he was capable of hearing anything other than "You're right, sir." Unfortunately, like most right-wing extremists, George W. Bush is unable to hear that.
