i have a 2000 oldsmobile silhouette we changed the oil but dont know how to get the change oil light to go off. we have tried pumping gas 3 time while engine off in on position and brakes nothing happened light still on

Try hooking up a code reader and erasing it that way. Also re-read the reset procedure in the manual. You may be skipping a step.

Disconnect the battery cable for a period of time or overnight then connect back up. This should take care of it. Let me know.
