do you wear brands like Ralph Lauren, Prada, Gucci, Miu Miu, Armani etc.
i like them, but do you?
or do you go for regular brands.
some people say designer clothes are immoral because Africans make them in sweat shops for next to nothing, but really, when you think about it, if people like us didn't buy their clothes, then the african's would have no jobs or income! getting payed very little is surely better than not getting paid at all.
just want other people's thoughts

I wear a ton of designers and I don't feel ashamed about it at all. I think that if I can afford them and it's not getting in the way of other people then it's fine.
In America we don't have to have the Mercedes Benz, but we work those extra hours so we can drive it. People in Mexico want the Mercedes Benz but work from 9-11 and shut down the city for 3 hours and come back and work from 2-4 or 5.... It's crazy.. If you can afford the designers go for it.
Who ever says they're immoral is just jealous. I bought my very first pair of designer sunglasses when I was 12. They were Prada and ended up costing me 300. Everyone thought I was crazy and some people even gave me a hard time about it but they were all just jealous. If you work hard enough and can afford the designer clothing/sunglasses/cars/accessories etc then you deserve it!

designer clothes are expensive, but not immoral. the high-end apparel is usually made in europe (note the "made in" tag on your clothes). I can honestly say i have never owned an article of clothing made in africa in my life.
i generally wear ralph lauren, calvin klein, miu miu, chloe, marc jacobs, jovovich-hawk, phillip lim, theory, trovota, alexander wang, and some lilly pulitzer... and sometimes really obscure ones i pick up at the flea market
otherwise, if you are concerned about the plight of africans, rather than being content to relegate them to poor working conditions (which are, incidentally, inhumane and abhorrent, so you should never say that they should live the way they are), you can donate money to various humanitarian organizations to better their living conditions (1-2% of your income is plenty, if you really think about it).

yes i wear and love designer clothing, and from what I've seen on the tags, most of them are made in the usa, or at least a lot more of them than other brands. Almost all the burberry, juicy couture, marc jacobs, michael kors and chanel things i own were made in the usa or other developped countries in europe/north america, and I don't have one piece of clothing from nike, american eagle of whatever that isnt made in a developped country like morocco, inda or indonesia...because they cost more, designers can afford to make their clothes in actual shops, not sweat shops, so i really dont think that it is only designer pieces that should be accused of this, when in actuality they do it far less than a lot of other brands...

actually...it really depends on what designer clothing. check the tags. actually....i think most of the ones from sweat shops are the really cheap clothing.
so just check the tags to see if it's made in usa or china etc.

I wear the brands you've mentioned as well. But their items are not made in any third world country, they are made in Italy.
