I'm a teacher and just turned in my tax info to the tax lady who does the taxes for our principal and about 30% of our school. I had about $12,000.00 in deductions. What kind of return might i be looking at?

I sure hope you aren't teaching accounting or basic math. Poor kids.

This is definitely a story problem that is missing a few details. Without a great deal more information, this is one that you will definitely need to consult your tax professional about. Since she already has your information, you should be able to get an answer from her pretty readily. If she has already submitted your return, then she'll definitely be able to tell you.

A 1040 return, but what kind of deductions are you talking about? State Income Taxes paid, mortgage interest, Real Estate taxes paid, medical expenses, charitable contributions? Are you married or single, head of household? Need more info to give you a better idea.

You might be looking at a "tax return." Without knowing all of your financial details it's utterly impossible to say what might be on that tax return. You may have a refund coming or you may have taxes due. It's just impossible to say.

Oooh ,oooh , forgot - how about that beautiful blank ink on the paper. Wow.

Ooh, Ooh, sounds like a 1040, Wow.

You don't provide nearly enough info for anyone to give you even a wild guess at an answer.

It depends on your income and overall financial situation. From what you have disclosed, a clear picture cannot be given.
