I am sure no one has done Cross Species Dating..I hope.
But for an idea to become popular or a hit you need to know what people want/need but they dont know it. Having a good idea that can make you money takes some thought to it. Most things that are simple such as the pink flamingo in the yard...

well... when you guys and gals think of something let me know!! I can do some programming for you! Youtube, myspace, xanga... all "dumb idea's" until they made millions/billions!!
The basic concept is to take a problem and fix it! Reinvent something... etc...
What about an animal mating site for people who want to breed their cats and dogs and horses... you know.. to create the pick of the litter??? (Just came to my head... haha sorry).

your imagination is lacking - i can think of hundreds of specialist dating sites. one handed lesbians for example.
alternatively you could add features others do not have - video - text messaging, (i know these have been done - but something along those lines)

You need to offer something that no one wants, but then turn it into something that everyone needs!
