ive tried it. its horrible. does anyone like it?! and why is it made out to be THE thing to eat. its not even that expensive!

It is horrible but not that posh because you can now buy it in Lidl the famous cheapo shop and was only a couple of quid a jar

i was having oysters at the oyster bar in harrods, where they also serve real caviar. there was a russian couple with a little girl of about 10. in the space of about 30 minutes they each had 2 portions of caviar, including the kid. when looking at the menu it works out to be about £60 a mouthful.
the caviar you mention is not the real thing.

I know its horrible i couldn`t believe what all the fuss was about I bet a lot of the rich people dont like it but only eat it to be seen eating caviar

It's an acquired taste. Personally I think some people eat the stuff so they look cultured to others.
I (seriously) do enjoy it. My Aunt Susie makes the best caviar hors d'oeuvres I have ever had.
Red caviar is not as salty as the black (in my opinion)

I tried it once, way back in the 80's the white one anyway. It tasted like a pile of salt. It was horrible. I've never had it since.

I dont like caviar that much but sainsbury's sells lumpfish roe in a jar which is lovely. And cheap

Probably because it's rare.It's not considered posh in Russia,even the most poor can eat that!

well some arent expensive.. but generally its really expensive (the good ones) cuz there really hard to find.. i like it.. but than again i only like the expensive ones cuz they taste really good
