I did seal them, but the seem dull. I wasn't sure if I was cleaning them with the wrong substance. :( Any recommendations for cleaning supplies would be great.

A product called Clean EnCounter is recomended. It is but one. Granite is a volcanic stone with silica in it. It is not as pourous as many other stones. It is ignius stone I think. Check up stone counters on A search engine. You treat outdoor granite and indoor granite in different ways. It should be done once a year

If you are cleaning them with products that have ammonia, bleach, vinegar, lemon juice or anything acidic, you will find that they break down the seal and make the granite appear dull. (Learned that the hard way.) You can get instantaneous shine with a product called GelGloss which is available in the fushia can at the home improvement stores or go about re-sealing it and then using the proper cleaning products. I did mine last weekend and found it to restore the shine almost immediately after discovering that the housekeeper has been using Windex on my granite and it was becoming very dull. I like to use a product by TileLab which is a cleaner and protector on my granite which preserves the shine, cleans the surface and adds a sealant protector. It is also food safe, non-toxic, biodegradable and fume free. Obviously, the housekeeper prefers Windex because she only has one product to use on the glass surfaces and the countertops. You can get the TileLab products at the home improvement stores too.

You can use a sealer or a granite shining polish. Most recommended is to use a sealer recommended by the supplier: - See more at: http://www.miconstruguia.com/en/how-to-install-granite-countertops/
P.S. Don't use Pledge to get an instant shine. It will build up and cause problems later.

I use pledge citrus after I have already cleaned and disinfected the countertops. Also you can use Pledge on Stainless steel appliances to make them look brand new!
