I find this hard to believe because the dealer wants to sell you teflon paint protection before you take delivery of the car.

I had my truck repainted and they told me to wait 30 days before waxing. With a new car, off the lot, it is probably older than 30 days already so you should be able to wax it immediately.

Most new cars you buy off a dealer's lot were manufactured in other parts of the country (Or in a different country), and sat around the manufacturer's plant for several weeks waiting to get shipped out. Then they were put on a truck or a train and shipped half-way across country, sat around some more, and finally ended up on your dealer's sales lot where they sat around again for another week or month until you just happened to show up and buy it. The paint job is at least a month and maybe several months old.

If the paint isn't dry by now, it never will be! Just make sure the car is clean and free from dust before you start rubbing that polish onto the new car's exterior.

A car on a dealers lot has had plenty of time to cure. A newly painted car should be given time to cure(around 20 to 30 days) a dealership car was painted then eventually shipped when ordered and put on the lot. This will certainly take longer than that.

THERE IS NO WAITING TIME for waxing a new car!! All the
new cars stay at the factory for 45 days before being shipped
to the dealers. So, go ahead and wax your car!! DON'T buy
the teflon protective---new cars ALREADY have it!!

New paint systems include "curing time" in heat booths. Hint, if you can "SMELL" paint on your car, its not yet cured.
