Over-the-counter home pregnancy kits provide privacy and fast results, and can detect pregnancy as early as six days after conception, or one day after a missed menstrual period.

All pregnancy tests are based on the presence of a hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), that the pregnant woman produces after conception.

On my 3 pregnancies I've taken the test the very day I was suppose to start my period. They all came up positive. It's just a few bucks at the drugstore, get a double pack. If it doesn't show up on the first one, wait a few days and try again.

i had a positive 4 days after i missed my period. i took the first response test. i could have taken it before my missed period, but i didnt have a strong feeling that i was pregnant until later. it also depends on the brand. also, everyones bodys are different and a positive will show up at different times.

you should be able to get accurate results the day of your missed period- but if you take one and it says negatve and you dont get a period i would a wait a couple days and try again. If you still don't get a positive or a period I would make an appointment with my doctor to check...

oh and the tests are more accurate with morning urine

i would say if you don't have a period by the beginning of April then i would most definitley take a test. The results are probably going to be positive.

Now you can take a test before you even miss your period...just make sure you get a good test. Also try to get 2 tests so you can make sure a couple of days later.
