A friend of mine swapped a 4-cylinder 1.3L FI engine and transmission from a Suzuki Swift GT into his Metro convertible. Practically a bolt in swap and you go instantly from what, 53hp to 100hp. You won't find any bigger gain that is as easy.

Doubtful. A 4 barrel carb, even in the smallest CFM rating, will drown that motor. I'm assuming you are talking about a Geo Metro with the 1.0 litre I-3 engine.

What would you do with the extra barrel? You would have one for each cylinder, and a spare?
I've seen the little 3 bangers. Leave them alone with the fuel injection, it's more efficient. If you are looking for more out of it, consider a blower and a more efficient exhaust.

Best left well enough alone.
All that will do is shorten the life of the engine.
