My husband gave me a t shirt ( that advertises his business) and I want to make it more of my own( e.g. cutting the side and putting it into a knot) any ideas?

You can cut out the collar, or cut a V in the collar. You can take a straight razor and 'destroy' the seems at the sleeves and bottom.

Hmm... well... I don't actually know what's your style but if it was my t-shirt I'd first of all cut it up abut till it's above my bellybutton and then take a black marker (or if the t-shirt is black take some other color) and draw up some swirlies, or just some stuff that I like it'll look terrific! ;)
