I'm 29 weeks. I failed my fasting test, and was at 120. Then at my 1 hour, I was high as well. My midwife said I have gestational diabetes and has sent me to an OB/GYN who specializes in treating gestational diabetes.

I am scheduled to see him tomorrow. What can I expect at the appointment? And how will this affect me during the rest of the pregnancy?

He will either set you up with a dietitian appointment or will show you how to test your blood yourself. You will be given a meter and shown how it works. You will have to keep an eye on your carbohydrate intake and sugars and have to record your blood sugar number a certain amount of time a day. You will have to be seen more so they can make sure you have it under control and to see if you need meds or anything. It will have ill effects on your baby if you don't control it so even though it SUCKS... do what you have to do for your baby. Good luck

I do not have Gestational Diabetes now, but I did 10 years ago with my 4th baby. You will be given a special diet to follow and will need to check your blood glucose with a monitor. I had to test mine 4 times a day. At the appointment, you will probably get information about Gestational Diabetes, your diet plan, and your blood glucose monitor. One of the risks of women with Gestational Diabetes is having a larger than normal baby, which in turn may pose a delivery risk. Women with Gestational Diabetes are usually seen more frequently, especially in later pregancy. At my 32 week check-up, I began weekly appointments. Each week I had an appointment with the diabetes nurse, had a pre-natal appointment, a non-stress test, and an ultrasound. Most Gestational Diabetes can be managed quite well with diet. After your baby is born, both of you will have several blood glucose tests done in the hospital. Generally the baby is not affected and mom no longer has diabetes. Women who have had Gestational Diabetes are at higher risk to develop Type 2 Diabetes. I was recently diagnosed with glucose intolerance, also called pre-diabetes and I am back on a similar special meal plan as to what I was on when I was pregnant 10 years ago. It seems scary, but your doctor, your midwife, and your dietician will provide you with the information you need to manage this. You can do it. Don't be afraid to ask questions and get all the information you can from these trusted sources.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

My wife currently has gestational diabetes and is treating it through diet. While this sucks being pregnant and having to reduce the amount of carbs that you take in, it is much better than the alternative of having an insulin shot. As worried as we were at first, it hasn't been that bad and she is currently 38 1/2 weeks without any problems. As long as your follow the diet that they give you, you and the baby will be fine.

i had with my daughter and will have it with this one, its not as horrible as u may think. 120 isnt high so the dr will talk to you about dieting and counting carbs and set you up with a diabetic class or just a diabeteic diatician. also they will show you how to take your blood sugar and give u a monitor and some pamplets on whats normal range after eatring and for fasting, as long as you can keep your diet good and your sugars at a normal rate u will be perfectly fine, me however my one hr result was over 250 and my htree hour ones were well over 300 so i was immediatly put on insulin shots which im deathly terrified of needles, my husband had to do the shots, but if your sugars continue to be high you will get on the shots as well as you will go to a diabetic clinic/class where they show you how to do the shots and such. if you dont take care of yourself, you have a high risk of having a still born and or a very very large baby, most likley unless other complications arise you will be induced at 39 weeks because with gest diabetes babies are at risk for still born even more after 39 weeks gestation. but really its pretty simple and i noticed my wieght gain decreased ALOT after taking care of myself better nad eating better. my daughter was born at 39 weeks and was 8 lbs 10 oz, far from wht they had thought at 30 weeks when she was already well over 6 lbs on the u/s. oohhh and be prepared for more u/s which is a perk cuz those are always fun, good luck and relax stress can raise your blood sugar
