They are either wasted lives in drugs or booze and the public not only condones it the public supports this life style for them and our kids want to be just like them in clothing and life style and we wonder whats wrong with the world today!!!! Most of their children have no idea on what it means to go without and their life is one big party with drugs and sex. We put sports stars on pedestals who commit rape, drug abuse, and are violent and some have even committed murder and if they play good its okay, what does that tell you about our generation???

The media is not a person and does not reflect the wants or needs of the viewing public. The media is a machine. It is the media that seems to worship celebrities and never allow celebrities' pasts to stay in the past. No one said it is okay for fallen celebrities/athletes to live without moral standards. At the end of the day, they wipe their own noses and feed themselves, just like us.

The media "worships" them to fill up their time slots with nuggets of information regarding these people's personal lives. There's a lot more wrong with the world than the picture of lawlessness portrayed in celebrities' lives by the media. The biggest consumers of this content seem to me to be stay-at-home moms, beauty salon owners/customers and retired ladies. The benefit of a man following such stories is conversational fodder only.

Why should the media (Entertainment Tonight, Extra, etc) change their focus and produce meaningful content if we are not willing to take action on what is important? If we continue to consume the content they produce, we continue to allow the media to condition us to a certain degree of acceptance of lawlessness.

Do not allow celebrity news to perpetuate the false image of real life. Celebrity news outlets cause suffering, while ignoring people who are really suffering.

The reason most people worship them because they live the lives almost every non-functional human being lacking a brain and motive thinks is the best. People are often misguided to believe that celebrities have it all since they see them in magazines and television; whereas, there are people in the world who are not rich and do not focus on material wealth and are still considered happy.

In my own belief, celebrities are just one of the many idiotic creations that people follow. Tell me, what do you gain by idolizing another person's life, what they have, do, wear, date, etc. Some people say it's an escape from the harsh reality they live in, but I say to them that they are full of crap. Celebrities don't give a damn about us and could care less who we are and what we do with our regular lives. Some people lack brains and the choice to live their life they way they choose, so they look to a celebrity because they think they are worth their time.

I really don't think that 90% of their lives are non functional with no morals. You have the bad crop ie Paris, Nicole, Lindsay, Brittany, Kobe and etc. But then you have the ones that are just living their lives like normal-ish people and we like to read about them, ie Brad/Angelina, Ben/Jennifer, Tom/Katie, Ryan/Reese. There's nothing wrong with taking an interest in celebrities. Watching Entertainment Tonight is WHOLE lot more fun than watching CNN most of the time.

I think that it's becuase it's what considered "cool" nowadays, like every time the 1900's the 1800's had it's own fashion and some people choose to stand out, others just go with the flow so as to not be critized or made fun of in my opinion. Or maybe it's just the fact that these celebritites are famous and rich and they do what ever pleases them, they can treat anyone however they want and maybe that what this generation wants to be like, they want to have the who world in their hands.

They are worshiped because they live a glamorous lifestyle, one that we cannot imagine because we are ordinary citizens. They either became famous either for their looks, talent or both.

Everywhere there are good people and bad people, same thing with Hollywood. We got some doing bad stuff while we have some doing good stuff.
