I'm seperated( bitter divorce pending), and my ex's new girlfriend has managed to find my ebat account and send me a bitchy message. I do not want her seeing what I am buying or selling. I feel like I'm being spied on. If I shut down my account and then open a new one... I will lose my positive feedback. Is there a way round this? If there is not, can I open a new one with the same bank account details?

All help most welcome

Contact ebay through their support service they will be glad to change your username so nobody can find you. I believe they also have a private setting so only certain users can see your account, ask them about it.

You can only have the 2 accounts if you completely shut down your first one :). But there is some way to just change your user ID, and with everything you buy there will be an icon next to it (if you switch the account name) with something like 'User has changed ID within 30 days' when you hover over... that should help sellers know that you've been on eBay before.

Or there is a way of just reporting you ex's girlfriend to the eBay staff... I don't think she'd bug you again after a warning. You could try blocking her from seeing your details too somehow... just give a notice to ebay and they might sort something out for you :)

You can change the user name on the account. I have seen it before they will keep all your positive feedbacks. They will just put a little * by your name showing that you changed it.

you can change your user name and still keep your feedback rating. if you get a new account, your rating will reset to zero. you might want to get a new email from hotmail or yahoo as well. if they can guess your password, they can do more than snoop.
