Competition is making both services get better. I tried out both and they're pretty similar, but they do have some differences.
Here's a comparison:
http://blog.auinteractive.com/compare-netflix-blockbuster-total-access-rental
Netflix:
* Has the lowest price option
* Offers streaming movies (for some titles)
* Have more independant films
* More community features/involvement/feedback
Blockbuster
* Can use movies rented online as free coupons in-store
* One free rental per month (which can be a game)
* Nice drag and drop interface

I have Blockbuster online. I like being able to have movies in the mail and return them in the store, it is much faster turn around than Netflix.

My mother's used both and Netflix has a better selection. Blockbuster annoys me because they won't allow you to pick up movies and drop them off solely from the store.

I like Blockbuster. You get more movies plus the shipping is a lot faster.

Netflix, but I don't think that I will ever watch all the movies on my list.

I download movies or go to the movie theatre. Haven't rented a movie in years.
