Immigration is what built the US and Canada. IF the Mexican government doesn't deal with the reasons for illegal immigration, they risk losing their most valuable assets, the people that work the land and the factories.
IF the US ignores the reasons for that same illegal immigration, they too risk losing their most important assets.
Most US born citizens, as well as Canadian ones, are burdened with an overwhelming sense of entitlement.
Most immigrants work hard. Every country needs that.

I do not believe we need much in the way of imigration reform.
What we do need is to give the law that already exists some real teeth for enforcement.
No, I do not think that Bush, or any president should do anything to make illegal aliens legal residents.
Period. They do not belong here and need to be gotten out of America.
Once they are gone and the border is secured, THEN we can talk about how to provide a path to citizenship for them.
As it stands now, the huge influx of illegals deteriorates the path for those people to assimilate into our American culture.
Get them out, keep them out and let in only those that want to become Americans...Speak english, understand the basics of our system of self-government and become law abiding citizens.

There already IS a process for becoming a LEGAL immigrant and applying for citizenship. Unfortunately, there are millions of illegals here. I don't believe they should be rewarded for their illegal behavior by being handed citizenship. Millions of people from all over the world have gone throught the process the right way, so why should some people be allowed to skip the legal process because of their close proximity to the US border?

I am assuming that you are referring to illegal immigrant. This question will continue to be asked in different ways. If this were a political question, the answer would be no, if this is a humanitarian question, the answer is yes. The vast majority of these people have nothing and are willing to risk their lives in order to make it to the U.S. and work whatever job they get. Granted, they do use some of our programs, at the same time, they put a lot into our systems. The answer is yes.

Well my family came over from Italy in the 1900's and went thru Ellis island. There seems to be biases on immigrants today like we don't want them. I feel like they should be kicked out and then should come over legally. If Bush just makes them legal one day and they where here illegally it says to everyone just come in and do what you want we will make you legal. so no

If they are here illegally? No.
Illegal means they broke the law. Why would we want to invite more criminals to be citizens?
I'm all for legal immigration and I don't really care what the cap is, just so long as it's legal.

Not if they are here ILLEGALLY...Many of the immigrants that come here LEGALLY are having a more difficult time becoming legal residents of the U.S. because of them...Hopefully, one of those will give you an answer...

No.
I think they should have to go back home, and then apply to become legal immigrants.
We should not reward them for disrespecting the laws of this country.
