Is It Possible to get a "diaper rash" from a maxi pad while on your period?

I do wash often, thanks very much, everyday in fact, sometimes twice a day but my period ended yesterday and I noticed that it hurt to sit down and I was chafed, but today I'm all better.

I don't like tampons...my period is sometimes really heavy and I always have more than a couple blood clots too and I prefer pads so that I can keep an eye on things. I'm too paranoid about blood stains to wear a tampon because you can't tell if it's full or not until it's too late.

If there is too much moisture in that area, yes you can develop a rash. Be sure to wear 100 % cotton panties...synthetic fabric trap the moisture.

Another thing to consider...you may have an allergic reaction to the pad itself. Try switching brands.

Yes it is very possible to get a rash. If you are using a deodorant maxi then change to unscented. IF you are using the brand always then the plastic lining that is on it will cause irritation. Try changing to a different brand. I personally had to go to tampons, because I broke out so bad using Maxi's. Once you change brands, change often and wear underwear that is a little tighter to keep the pad from moving around so much.

I had the same issue. You may be allergic to the kind of pad, or it could be holding to much moisture to close to your area... try something that breathes better. I ended up going to tampons because no matter what pad I used... no matter how clean I was... I always had the rash! Since the tampons.. no more issues!

Yes it is. You want to make sure you change your pad regularly, and keep that area clean and dry. Always has come out with pads that have a little sanitary wipe attached. They're very convenient and keep you fresh and clean. If this doesn't help, you may have very sensitive skin and your pad is causing some sort of allergic reaction. I would see a doctor if this problem continues or gets worse.

Not sure, because I have not used pads since I was a very young teenager.

Get rid of the pads and switch to tampons. They are so much easier and cleaner to use.
