or do you have to wait till the download is finished befor you can play a game. Example, play gears of war while i'm downloading a demo of project 8.

Yes you can do it at the same time, just start the download, then play, it will tell you when it is finished

yeah u can but u cant be on xbox live game like u cant have to like get online like if u have fullauto u can play the game but if u play xbox live it will stop the download

It depends...
Are you playing Gears of War on xbox live?
Because if you are, you cannot do both.
However, if you are playing offline, you will have no problem downloading and playing!
