Ive always used Fram oil filters in my car, was just wondering if the pricier K&N Oil filter would make any difference? Would I get better gas mileage? Is my engine safer?

lol,,wow 150 horse power,,well we all know that's not true, about all the oil filter will do is clean the oil a little better ,it wont help it on power none at all,and i always use a fram filter also,i think they do just fine, the k,n deal wont do much better ,but it does clean the oil a little better that's about it,and your engine might be a little safer with a K&N in it maybe a little, good luck i hope this helps.

Sounds good and what you can do is when you do find that tool and have the new filter in hand - change it. What I've done at times is too then say drain all that new $$ oil out within the next 500 miles or so. If you don't think the oil was really sludgy or worse. The filter has dealt with most things just like my coffee filters. The thing is now you would be on second run and if the filter went to like 10,000 miles for imaginative purposes then your not your not getting much oil through. So if you want to just the filter do so when engine not hot and drain the $$ other oil outa there later and I use it in the car that dosn't have many miles left to it anyway, it works too me...

The K&N oil filter is one of the best on the market. It filter out the smallest of particals and so the oil stays a lot cleaner. So that means cleaner oil better lubraction, longer engine life.
If you realy care about your engine, you should take a look at Royal Purple oil. I use both of them in my drag boats and they have done wonders for me. I have gained more speed and the parts wear is not a problem like it use to be.
I hope this helps

K&N is good and you don't have to change the filter every time you change the oil just take it off and drain it and put it back on. The engine will be safer by all means cuz of the tighter filter they have but as for the gas milage I don't know. You might spend a few dollars now but in the long run it's worth it.

Certainly, But is the dirfference worth the extra cost is a question that you must ask your self. In my opinion No. These filters will catch much smaller particles in the oil. So your engine would be safer.

Its just the manufacturer's way to fool you into spending more for their product as opposed to those of their competitors.
