Any couple whether they white, black, hispanic etc can make it last 50+years. I know a interracial couple that has been married that long...Hubby is white and the wife is black. They are still together because they love each other very much...race isn't an issue. I can't even imagine what they went through during the time when racism was really really really bad. They made it work though...that is true love.

Why not. I actually know a few interracial couples that have been together almost that long. They all met during hard times for blacks and interracial dating. God forbid marrying. But they did it and they have beautiful successful children. So to answer your question, if you are willing to do the work that's involved and love each other beyond the black/white thing. Than why not. Hope you make it. (PS. I'm an Indian latino women with a black man for 10 years now.)

This is what is wrong with the world.
I see a couple holding hands, I think aww how sweet their in love.
The world sees a couple holding hands, and think. The mans black and the woman is white and their dating!
Race has nothing to do with relationships, and nothing to do with ANYTHING. If your white, and you see a black person, do you think oh that person is black?? Ask yourself WHY? What does it matter?? Do you see a person with blonde hair, and immeadately think that person has blonde hair?? No. Then why should you pick out someones skin colour?
I am sorry, but the only true nonracist people out there, are ones that dont notice someones race when they first meet them.

Depends on how strong their mind, soul, and relationship is. But if they have good faith and family support and it would probably go as long as they live. Honestly, do you think any couple could last 50 years now a days?

No reason why not - - if there is adversity, sometimes it brings people closer together - - but, not too many couples make it 50 yrs anyway... hey, if it is you - and if it is any help - I'm rooting for you!!
ps - I have a very pleasant mixed marriage - though not b/w

This is all too sad that this question even has to be asked. Is that how far we have come to accepting that people are not all black, yellow, red, white or polkadotted.
I say go for the gusto! Of course, they can last that long and longer!

The color of skin doesn't dictate anything. Anyone can be married 50 years if they try...but to your question, yes, we just had a couple come into my work the other night and they made it 68 years.

What does being an interracial couple have to do with staying together for 50 years? If they are happy and content, they could be orange and green and stay together forever.

What do you mean by that.Yes I know of at least 3 mixed marriages of course 50 years are a long time away.I think that of course this makes more issues but I can't see why they couldn't make it.50 years is a long tome for anyone.I hope every marriage could last 50years or more
