Currently the Leafs are in 11th place two points behind Carolina for the 8 spot in the playoff run. Each have 7 games left.

You also have Montreal and NY Islanders

Top 8 make the playoffs, the leafs are currently 11th with 82 points but 8th place has only 84, it possible but they will need a darn good run to finish out since it is a tight race for the final spot in the east.

If they keep playing like they have recently, I believe they will. They just need to play a full 60 minutes. Buffalo got the first win of the home and home and did not really play well, if the leafs would have kept the pressure on they would have won. They did this in game two, and won.

As a Leafs fan I hate to say this, but they probably will not get in. I believe they will end up with 92 points and 41 wins, but Carolina will have 92 points and 42 wins, which will get them in ahead of the Leafs. Had the Leafs won on Friday, I think they would have made it.

Friday's 3rd period collapse could be their undoing.
At least if they miss it they may finally be free of Ferguson.
The New NHL needs GMs who get the most bang for their cap dollars. That's not happening right now. Ferguson acts like he's trading hockey cards in the school yard.
