I suppose if you took a worldwide view the answer would be yes. In many parts of the world, that is the only choice. But even in places such as the United States, while interracial marriage is becoming more common, I think it is still more likely to for you to marry someone of your own race.

It is ingrained in us to be with a person that is similar to ourselves in either culture, race, values , backgrounds or economic status. I don't think it will ever go where we will not seek the comfort of a person similar to ourselves. Personally I believe that love and not race should be #1 factor that a marriage should be about. Marriage is a celebration and recognition that you have found a person that is apart of you , that you want to share your life and experiences with as 1 whole person instead of two.

FYI: I think as the human race we tend to not like to think that we are not basically one people but we where not there yet when our ancestors took the leap to help create us, so it is very well possible that non of us are as pure of race and/or culture as we think of ourselves as. We all like to celebrate our heritages but we need to acknowledge that it is not nor will any culture and/or race enjoy a pure lineage but we can embrace the fact that we are here and each household has a choice of adding to their communities with a unique flavor. (after all we all know that chicken and water hardly makes a worth while soup. and if it was not for us mingling and sharing our tables we would be just as bland)

Yes, I think that the majority of every population in every country still marries their own kind.

And to state something else here, concerning the answer 3 moves above me: Scottish, Irish, German, etc... these people are all white. White mixed with white makes white. So calling someone of any of these mixtures white would be correct.

The majority still do, but it's definently becoming more and more common to be "Different" nowadays. The new generation is bringing in a wave of difference just like every other generation before us.

It has all gotten pretty muddy hasn't it? I am not being racist but I think our culture is going to suffer because of it, the things that make Mexican people Mexican or Italians or Germans or any other race is their culture, if we lose that we lose diversity itself. That is what makes travel so interesting, it's seeing what all of these great cultures have to offer. Sure we all have ugly pasts but we also have a lot to share with the world also.

almost EVERYONE is more than just one race. For all you white people out there you are most likely MORE than just "white" You're french, scottish, irish, english, german, etc.! I personally believe that people TEND TO marry their own race...however, that is kind of a tricky question because everyone is so mixed plate already!

Well if they find the one they truely adore in their own Race, I guess so. Many tend to look beyond and find love in another culture. Yet some are too AFRAID! Oh well. Props to those who find the love of their lives...!!! ^-^ Enjoy.
