I'm supposed to write a paper on a song and an artist similar to the poem and the author. I hate thr prompt. I can't find a song.
Please help?

I just went and read the poem, and it seems like it's about time passing, things gone that are never coming back, etc.

I'd suggest:
Time Marches On--Tracy Lawrence

The Boys of Summer--Don Henley

Who Knows where the Time Goes--Judy Collins, etc.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Knows_Where_the_Time_Goes)

What Might've Been--Little Texas

I'm sure there are lots more songs on this theme; this is just off the top of my head. I don't know if any of these artists are similar to Henry W.L. . . . you could probably stretch to make it fit :)

Good Luck!

First one that comes to mind is Sunrise, Sunset, from Fiddler on the Roof. Music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick
The song uses the same type of rhythm that the poem does, evoking the rising of the sun and its setting by the rise and fall of the music.

How about "Ebb Tide" by the Righteous Brothers, or the version by Frank Sinatra?
