Thanks to biased media and liberal politicians with agendas, we are far past the point of objectivity with regard to our involvement in Iraq.
I agree with YOU. Unfortunately, you and people like you will never be given the avenue you deserve to say the truth.
Why? See paragraph one above.

No matter what happens, they complain! Here is the truth! Alot of people in America want $25 dollars an hour but that is not possible. The same thing can be seen in Iraq. Although I believe many people are glad we are bringing more freedoms, there are those out there in Iraq who are still brainwashed by deep ties to Sunni and Shiite divisions. Sad thing is, if we leave now, there will just be another uprising and takeover! The road from here is hard but I do not believe pulling out now would be good for those who have already embraced the coalition. I hate it though when the news tries to compare it to Vietnam. We lost 86,000 troops in Vietnam, 2000% compared to what has occurred in the last five years in Iraq. We at least allowed the military to be at near full strength unlike Vietnam where politics kept America from wiping out those socialist bastards! Oh well, their country failed anyways because socializing doesn't work, FREEDOM DOES! The liberals care about socialism, that's it! As long as government can show a hint of good, they are in, regardless of the future harm! They do not understand economic freedom nor liberty and they are truly bent on stopping the spread of freedom. Look at what every other country has had happen that has gone through this, they are in debt and their systems have always failed! But no, more, more, more, more. They are never happy with the way things are. It's like drama queens that won't shut up about friends behind there back! When everything is going okay, they still find something to ***** about! It will not stop EVER! They are bent on pulling millions of people down from their successes! They are doing a good job of it as well! They truly would be for everything that is going on in Iraq had a liberal president started it! I spilt my milk, DAMN BUSH, I didn't save my money, DAMN BUSH, I can't force other people to pay for my goods I could've purchased, DAMN BUSH. What is very funny is how alot of liberals I know thought we should've gotten Iran! These regions are almost identical! They both have huge religion/government mixes, JUST AS THE REPUBLICANS BRING, and both are unbelievably controlling, economically and politically! Point is, it is just a bunch of FUC^#&@ politics! ~ Libertarian!

I agree with you100%. I was over there too, and all over there too. I agree people are happy. I don't know who the media is asking. Your houston thing was good. I seen some people having a rebuddle to it though. With cliff diving and hospitals. True you can know about those from reading and listening, though you can never fully appreciate until you been there. Plus those can be controlled observations. War is changing everyday and and never be contolled like a hospital. I thin you are right man.
Don't worry just sit back and smile,
AMERICA IS GREAT PLACE
we are fighting to keep it a great place, and so some of these people can run there mouths. We are protecting there right to do so. So utlimately we get the last laugh

Here is a counter to your analogy: I have never been committed to a psychiatric hospital. I have seen pictures of them, have heard people talk about what happens there and even saw some on the news. Actually being committed is the best way to experience it rather than learning about on the news or the Internet.
To deny that someone has a valid opinion on the Iraq conflict (not a war) simply because they have never been to Iraq is the same thing.

Great question. With the rise of the Internet people have become so informed without really knowing anything. There is a hazy line between fact, opinion, assumption and conjecture. And as you build in your mind what you think is "fact" you are closing your eyes to what may really be the truth. This goes for everything in current affairs - not just Iraq. I could easily find two websites that completely contradict each other - and both would have sufficient sources to back what they say. So really, you use your opinions to decide which you will accept as the truth....

No, I have not been to Iraq. All I know about Iraq is what the government allows the news media to say.
From my viewpoint, I really don't care if some of the Iraqi people are glad we are there or not. It's not our mission to make people happy about us coming in and destroying their country. Frankly, I believe they are glad we are keeping them alive, not that we are there. There's a big difference.
Exporting democracy to a people who know nothing about what it means and even consider it a weakness is an exercise in futility. We should have learned that in Vietnam.
The government insists that leaving Iraq will result in a tragedy. I look at Vietnam today and see that they managed to come through just fine on their own.

Your 100% right. No one should be commenting one way or the other about the Iraq war unless they been there. But it's human nature to do so.
Although, I try hard to stick with what I know. IE: the reasons we went in to Iraq, and that the soldiers that have gone over there to fight deserve our Love and respect. Those are the things I know about the rest is all speculation, since I'm not over there. And I don't listen to the media hype.

I have. Served two tours. One at BIAP and one at the 363rd AEG. I worked with the OPS guys as well as the Civil Engineers (A7). I saw (just like you probably did) all the clinics, hospitals, schools, bridges and infrastructure work going on. I can't really blame the people in YA who have never been over in theater -- all they hear is what the main media airs every night and thats nothing but bad news.

You make a good point. We only know what the media presents. I know second hand about Itaq from two soldiers who were there and are back there now. They, in fact, only know what is going on where they are stationed in Iraq. They do not know if the people are happy they are there because, under orders, they don't fraternize with them in case one could be wired with explosives. The kids are always hanging around, wanting candy. That's my second hand news from reputable sources.

You should have also asked, " How many people on here who comment on the positives of the Iraq war have actually been in Iraq for the war ?"
But you didn't. Your argument is worthless.

I support our efforts in Iraq. I do have criticisms of certain decisions made implementing the policy, though.
I have never been to Iraq.
