go to www.ukinspain.com you can download and print the passport renewal froms. it's easier than going to malaga to pick them up. it's all in english. you then have to fill it in and send it off to madrid by registered post and enclose the bankers draft. it's very simple. it gives you all the instructions on the notes when you print off the form. it takes around 4 weeks. I did mine and it was all very easy.

Contact the nearest British Consulate and they will ahve details on how to go about doing this, it can be done but does take some time and there is the issue of the pictures being rejected. If oyu live over here, have a look aorund the area where you are, for a british supermarket or mailroom that does Offex services, as they will arrange everything for you of the consulate is no where near you, they check the photo's are to be acceptable before sending them off, for this they do make a charge, but they deal with the whole thing for you

If you speak to the High Commission in Madrid, they will be able to issue you with a new passport. I believe there is also an office in Malaga, but it depends where in Spain you are.

You can still do it in the UK but you have to wait for it to come through and obviously you couldnt leave the country while they were processing your new passport. I went through the same thing a few years back. It's a pain isnt it?

Contact the Embassy of the UK in Madrid, they should know best. But when you travel within the EU, you don't really need a passport.
Greetings from Germany
