how many ways can 7people be seated in a row if 2 of then, ber and bul, won't sit beside eachother?

without these restrictions it would be 5,040 or 7! ways.

7x6x5x4x3x2x1 = 5,040
but you have to eliminate a choice for each of ber and bul (720 each) so take away 1,440.

There's probably a better way to explain this, but it's been a while...

1*5 + 2*4 + 3*5 + 4*5 + 5*4 + 6*4 + 7*5 = Calculate.

We are not matematician to work on all permutation and combination for how many people in a row.
