Does it change your opinion of the person if they are wearing a tie?

In my opinion a tie is completely unnecessary. I don't like ties, they are kind of pointless and they don't even look nice either. Whether or not a person is wearing a tie changes nothing about my opinion of them. I don't think that anyone should 'have to' wear a tie to work.

I think that a tie gives the person a more put together look.Plus they seem to be powerful. And I could say that they can get a new look just by changing their tie...Any person that is an a managers position and deals with the public in sensitive matters needs to look worth the money they earn.I appreciate a person that dresses for success...Good question.

I think that attorneys should wear a tie if they are going to be in court or meeting with clients. If they are just working in the office, away from people, then it doesn't matter. (Note, I also think female attorneys should wear suits when going to court or meeting with clients.) It doesn't change my opinion of them, but it can give a bad impression to the court or client if you aren't dressed professionally. As for doctors, I actually prefer my doctor not wear a tie. It makes me feel more comfortable if they are dressed comfortably.

No. My opinion of a person does not change if they were a tie or not. Frankly, I never understood the concept of a man wearing a piece of hanging cloth from his neck was about.
