sunless tanning?

okay so my fiance and i are vacationing in florida next week. when i went out to buy summer clothes he told me i was so white that i was almost translucent.:) well i found this lotion made by dove that is saposed to make your skin darker in one week. ive seen it work on a friend before but will it be okay in the sun or will it prevent me from getting my own tan in florida?

It will not prevent you from getting a natural tan unless it says on the bottle that it contains sunscreen. If you do use the product though, make sure you exfoliate VERY well before applying it for the first time and rotate it every other day with another moisturizer. This will keep your skin soft while you're using the product and prevent orange streaks. Even though the product gradually tans you, it still contains sunless tanners and has the potential to turn you orange. My experience with gradual sunless tanners have been good as long as I keep my skin smooth.

It only has a touch of sunless tanner in it and you can use it and still get a tan in Florida. I should not prevent you form getting a tan because there is no protectant in it that i know of just sunless tanner. And it leaves your skin soft because of the lotion in it where as some sunless tanners alone can dry out skin.

I have had the best luck with Neutragena (foam) and Tan Towels. Make sure you exfoliate before application. The sunless tanning products usually do not have sunscreen in them so you will still tan or burn so be careful.

Nuetragina was rated the highest. I use the foam. I wear gloves and it still goes on nicesly and no orangy look. THe bronzer foam is the best. And it won't affect getting a real tan.

i use the same stuff. and i love it. use it, and when you get to florida stop usin it and go out side and tan for a while. i live in sc and i have to wear shorts already, so i had to do the same thing lol. hope this helps and have a great vacation!!!!
