bacteria have no nueral ceels whatsoever.the organization of the nervous system starts only in the higher animalia kingdoms.so in comparision to humans as such they can't 'think'. but they do react to different stimuli like light called the phototactic response or chemicals called the chemotactic response, but it has ne semblance to 'thinking'.

No, not in the way high organism do which have a brain and nervous system. However bacteria can produce chemicals in certain conditions and respond to those chemical so that individual bacteria coordinate and act together in ways they do not a single organisms.

bacteria do not have a brain, they cannot "think." They do not even have a nervous system. They are "programmed" to function. They only perform their programmed functions. When bacteria become resistant to an antibiotic, it is not because they "thought" about it, it is because natural selection is at work.

First of all, you have to determine what exactly thinking is. If you lower your standards, yes, they think, they do logical operations and they have normal respond to stimulus. But, if you speak about normal human and not only human thinking, no, they do not. They don't realize what they are doing and they have no conscious actions. So, it's a hard question...
