Very accurate! If you got a positive result then you are pregnant....the cheap tests are just as accurate as the more expensive brands.... Congratulations! Good Luck!

OK - HPT's are about 99% accurate for positive and only about 50% accurate for a negative. The only time I have heard of a false positive is when you are on certain fertility medications (don't know which ones) and you take a test at/near ovulation. This does not sound like your case.

If you are 5-6 since last cycle you may have implantation cramps, BUT since you had an issue before, call your Dr and get an appt to get checked out soonest.

I do think congratulations are in order! Take care.

HPT test for the presence of HCG: Human chorionic gonadotropin which is a hormone that is only produced during a pregnancy. So, as you can imagine, a false positive is very, very rare.

So rare that you need to get to a doctor, either to confirm the pregnancy or to determine what caused the false positive (some infection, miscarriage or something else). Your next step should be to set up a doctor's appointment to get checked out (i.e. stop reading Yahoo answers, goto the phone book and make a telephone call). And you should do it rather quickly, so you can start to alter your diet and lifestyle accordingly.

There is about a 99.9999% chance you are pregnant.

Many HPTs claim to be 99% accurate on the day you miss your period. But research suggests that most HPTs do not consistently spot pregnancy that early. And when they do, the results are often very faint.

I think you are pregnant, all the symptoms you describe point in that direction. Do another test and see if you get the same result, then go see your dr just to be sure, he will do another test for you. Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.x

I have been pregnant twice. False positives are very, very rare. However you can go and get a blood test done to confirm. Most OBGYN clinics will have you take a urine test in their office and then if that shows up postive they will then do the blood test. I knew that I was pregnant before it would even show up on a blood test (which is much more sensitive than the urine test) because my breast were sore two weeks before by period was supossed to start.

By the way, CONGRATULATIONS!

I took an even cheaper test from the dollar store and sure enough here i am 29 weeks pregnant. If you dont' trust that test, get another one, but if the pregnancy hormone is detected, it doesn't matter where you got the test and how much it cost...you are pregnant. Go to your doctor and there they will do the urine test and a blood test as well.

I did 9 tests from Asda / Walmart they all showed positive last week, went to the doctors who confirmed i was pregnant and then the hospital also confimed as well.

I was told that its very rare for a pregnancy test to show positive when its negative however it can show negative when it should be positive.

I know how you feel i was told i couldn't have children and found out that i'm pregnant i keep pinching myself and i won't believe it until i have a scan.

Best of Luck

The pregnancy test is looking for a hormone that is only present in pregnant women. If it finds it, ie the test is positive, then you're pregnant. They sometimes give false negative readings because they didn't detect the hormone when it was present but not false positives.

There could have been implantation bleeding, yet then you definitely had a miscarriage. Your physique isn't getting sufficient of the hcg hormones handed on your urine for a good try (this could additionally ensue in case you have in certainty diluted your urine by way of having drank a great number of water in basic terms before the try... hence the rationalization maximum tests advise which you pee on the stick 1st factor in the morning). undesirable batch of try. (unlikely). you have examined too early. Implantation ought to ensue around a million week after ovulation, yet being pregnant try's can not be relied upon until eventually around 2 weeks after ovulation (while AF is often predicted).
