okay im 17, i've been having pains on my lower abdomen, on the left side and sometimes on the right, i also have a pain in my lower back that sometimes runs to the back of my thighs, i've been scared that im pregnant because im sexually active ( although i've only had sex once and it was with a condom 2 days before my period ended) after that my next cycle was late, short, and light...can this be pregnancy or an ovarian cyst? im afraid to go to the gyn because im nervous that i might be pregnant, do you think i can stop worrying about pregnancy and go with the cyst thing?

ok dont worry i had the exact same thing happen to me. i also thought i was pregnant and extremely worried.after they did the ultra sound they told me that it was a ovarian cyst but had nothing to worry about unless it got any bigger. then they had me come back a month later and said it was the same size and was fine.also that many girls at my age(16) have them and unless got significantly bigger it was something i could live with forever.i only have one on my left side so i only get pains in that area but i know exactly how you feel. im almost positive that you are fine and especially since you were safe. i hope i helped ease you mind and dont worry the cyst is nothing to worry about either. good luck....<3

I suspect it's:
(a) A cyst
(b) an STD(you can get both, though much, much less likely, even when you use a condom - it might not have been used properly, or you could have gotten it during foreplay)
(c) stress
(d) Urinary tract infection that has progessed to the kidneys
Don't be so afraid; pregnancy isn't the end of the world, I got pregnant at 18 and I'm a very, very happy mommy. Even if you don't want the baby, there are wonderful people in this world that would take your baby, no problem, and some might even "sponsor" your health care during your pregnancy so your baby comes out healthy for them.

Okay first I would take a pregnancy test to make yourself feel better. You are probably not pregnant. I got my first ovarian cyst when I was 16 and it causes alot of pain. It can also cause back pain. The pain is really not a symptom of being pregnant. Your period was probably late due to stress of thinking you may be pregnant.

I would not think that you are pregnant. My sister has ovarian cysts and you are having all the same symptoms that she has when they rupture. If you only had sex once and you had your period the next month then I would not worry. Gynaecologists realize that you are nervous and if you have a good doctor then they will do everything they can to make your visit no big deal. Good luck!

The only thing I can suggest is go to that appointment because we cannot tell you thru here that you have an ovarian cyst. Now don't worry about pregnant but it can be that the condom brake.
Good Luck!

It sound more like a cyst tp me. I have had several of them. Dont wory and you might as well talk to the dr. about birth control so you dont have to worry about pregnancy again. But the best way to not get pregnant is well to not have sex!! But in todays world it is silly for me to think that a teenage girl would stop having sex. So talk about the irth control. Good luck dear and I hope everything goes well.

It could be cyst .. or it could be STRESS!
Stress can cause you to have a light period .. and sometimes no period at all!
You used protection .. so that's 99% affective.
The cramping most likely isn't pregnancy. I didn't get any cramping until about 2 months pregnant ..
All that stress can cause cramping!
Just make that appt. I'm sure everything will be ok!
good luck! God bless!

Well, based on the timing, if I understand everything right, you should not be pregnant. A lot of times stress can affect your periods and the fact that you had one is a good sign. What you need to do is to go in and answer Truthfully to every question your obgyn asks you. He/ She will be able to tell if everything is okay. Though it is possible, it is very highly unlikely. You are probably just emotional and stressed out.

your first time having sex was on your period???? LOL OMG. well no biggie really, i just think that is HIGHLY unusual for a virgin! anyway, it doesnt matter what you 'want' or think you 'should' go with on which item to worry about, none of it matters till you get to the dr's and they tell you what to worry about after doing some tests. duh. soooooooo no sense in worrying, because worrying keeps you busy like a rocking chair, but like a rocking chair, you dont go no where LOL
