When I went to the doctor last Thursday he told me that I've dilated 2cm. I know that my mucous plug has started to come out also. The baby has not dropped yet. I gave birth to my daughter when I was only 37½ weeks, but that was almost ten years ago now. I am tired of being pregnant and I'm ready to see my newborn baby girl.

A woman can walk around for two weeks dilated 2 cm and after she has lost her mucus plug. It really isn't an indication of impending labor. But of course, you could go into labor tomorrow. 38 weeks is considered full term. Cheer up!

Hey sweetie, I'm 38.5 wks and know EXACTLY how you feel. My baby has been dropped since 31 wks, fully engaged since 35wks(ish), and I've been dilated to 2cm for over 2 weeks.
I know that's not what you want to hear, but she will come soon!!! You can't stay pregnant forever, :) The fact is, you just never know. You could go another 2-3 weeks (heaven forbid!!) or you could go into labor in a few hours!! When labor started with my daughter I wasn't doing anything special, nothing out of the ordinary and all the sudden out of the blue there it was!
The fact you had your last baby early increases your odds of having this baby early too- but remember EVERY pregnancy is different.

Sounds like you'll be going any day now. Babies in subsequent pregnancies don't usually drop until the onset of labor. But I am feelin' ya girl, I will be 38 weeks wednesday and this crap is wearing on me. I have two other children ages 3 & 5 and they both arrived at 38 weeks. I however have no signs of labor coming, but I didn't with my second, it just hit me hard and fast. Congrats on your new baby!!!

I'm the same way, but I'm seeing the doctor today. my back has been cramping, my baby hasn't dropped yet, and I don't think that i've lost my plug yet.... I'm almost 38 weeks and I just want baby to come out!!! good luck with your girl, I'm having a boy.

Hello!! I know how you feel!! On Wednesday I will be 38 weeks and I'm only 1cm and the baby has not dropped at all either!! I'm very anxious to meet my little girl too!! Well, I know that I didn't help at all but just think she will be here before you know it!!! Congrats and Good Luck!!

You will soon. Maybe in the next few days even. But don't worry most Dr.s wont let a woman go but a week over her due date now so the baby should be here soon!!

hehe join the club!!! i am 29 weeks and so miserable and ready for the whole thing to be over with and be able to hold my new baby. unfortunately i had my son 8 years ago and had to be induced at 41 weeks so i am worried this baby will also try to stay in there forever..........lol

When the baby is ready! You have no say so until the baby is born, he/she is in control right now!
