Hi

I can currently deadlift about 110 kg. I started at about 50kg. how often (if I am deadlifting about twice a week) should I be able to increase my deadlift amount? I do 3 sets: 10 reps of x weight, 6-8 reps of x+10kg, 4-6 reps of x+20kg.

Wow, twice a week is intense. I keep it down to once a week. I use Mike Mentzer's pausing strategy, where I stay in the down position between reps for about 5-10 seconds. I do 5 sets of 10 reps. I try to increase about 5 pounds per week (2.5lbs on each side of the bar). Here's a sample workout from last week.

45lbs. 50 reps (warm up)
135lbs. 20 reps
225lbs. 10 reps
335lbs. 9 reps (pause strategy, I was aiming for 10 reps. this was a 5 pound increase from the previous week)
305lbs. 10 reps (pause strategy)

divide by 2.2 to get numbers in kilos.

If you want to up your weight....try doing 10 sets of 3 reps for awhile then switching that to 6 sets of 6......this will help you up your weight
As for me....I usually try and go up about 25 pounds a month
A small but good increas and its gotten me to doing reps with 500 at the moment....not too bad for 180 pounds if I dont mind saying so
