Get the Wii (fun games and is priced right) but be present if your children use the internet on it. None of the new systems have a net nanny so they'll be able to surf anywhere.
We own all three and the Wii gets used the most.

I would recommend any Nintendo system for the game selection and ease of use. You can get a Gamecube at a very cheap price these days, and the new WII system is great from the entire family with the new wireless controller. Even grandparents are enjoying playing with the kids now! Any of the other systems are great, but feature a lot of less friendly kid games. I have 5 kids myself and refuse to let them play the newer hard core systems because of this. I hope this helps!

The Wii is great, besides the shown fact that that's truly helpful to be careful. your babies would desire to pass loopy whilst enjoying a interest, use extreme rigidity, and hit some thing or somebody. i counsel which you pass over some risk-free practices recommendations in case you purchase it. one million: do not swing confusing. The Wii is conscious whilst your are shifting it even once you progression it softly 2. confirm you're actually not on the threshold of somebody jointly as enjoying the Wii 3. have relaxing. What Sarah reported isn't actual. it may not play DVDs because of the reality that that's the yankee version of the Wii. purely the *** version can try this. i visit advise it (i'm a huge Nintendo fanboy)

Nintendo has always been more child friendly. You simply can't go wrong with the classics like the Mario and Zelda franchises. If you can find a game cube I would say start with that. Just realize there is no new support for it so you will not be seeing any new games released, and as more time passes you might have trouble finding games.

GAMECUBE all the way. Nintendo has a large selection of kids games that are fun for that age range and won't hurt your wallet... i have two little brothers myself (8 & 10) who love playing their Gamecube.

if he wants a system and you're willing to buy one, get him the one he wants. if he's not asking specifically for one, don't get one. its a pretty specific hobby. also, if your child wants a video game system, why don't you listen enough to know which one he wants? are you that disinterested in things apart from yourselves?
