I'm 21 and married and both my husband and have agreed to not have children. I don't want to get too detailed on why.
I have severe PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) and it takes a toll on our marriage. Medication has not helped. I would just like to get rid of periods altogether. If I got my uterus removed (which I know is an irreversible option), would my PMDD be a thing of the past? What would happen to my hormone level? Would I be more susceptible to certain types of cancer later on?
Please share any personal experience. Thanks.

I also have endometriosis and a prolapsed uterus that causes me a great deal of pelvic pain.

Yes it would get rid of all your problems, no womb and ovarues means no periods.
Also I think you would probably have less risk of cancer since you can't get ovarian or womb cancer.

It is not your uterus that causes the PMDD. It is your ovaries. They are the ones responsible for hormones. So... getting your uterus removed would NOT help with the symptoms you just wouldn't bleed. Perhaps speak with your doctor about a full hysterectomy. Then you wouldn't have to deal with it. As far as cancers... Less chance because you can't get cervical cancer without a cervix. Hope this helps.

Just be sure to talk with your doctor and do research of full hysterectomies.

You're very young to be plunged into early menopause, and that can have some serious repercussions on your bone strength and other basic body functions.

The choice is definitely yours, just be sure to fully educate yourself on the positives and negatives first.

Good luck
