hands down winner:
Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Larry Bird
Hakeem Olajuwan
Wilt Chamberlain
magic vs nash -- adv magic... taller. scorer. rebounder. better all around game. can easily play 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 positions.
jordan vs bryant -- adv mj... the king versus the pretender. mj has more championship experience and more game winning play. he took basketball to the next level
bird vs james -- adv even... bird has all around games, defends, shoots threes... no fancy moves... james is the slasher type... faster off the dribble. cancels each other out.
olajuwon vs garnett -- adv the dream... best defensive player in his time... inside threat... very difficult to guard... nice dream fadeaway shot...
chamberlain vs o'neal -- adv wilt the stilt... statistical history

The matchup at the guard position would be awsome to watch, nash sees the game unfold like one other person ever-magic. Kobe vs. Jordan everyone in their right mind would say jordan just because jordan is jordan and the kobe haters would say kerr would school kobe but that matchup would be very interesting. Bird would destroy james hands down, james does not know how to play defense, and cant defend the perimiter. Bird on the other hand is a wonderfull defender, but james is so fast on that first step.....Garnett and the dream....hmmm PF vs. Center, i give the nod to hakeem just for size advantage, garnett could not handle hakeems size on the block. Wilt vs. Sahq.....wow what a match. i say the nod goes to shaq. You put shaq and wilt together in their prime and shaq would pound him into the ground. wilt was 7'0 275 about the same as duncan but a little taller. shaq 7'0 350 all muscle, you put shaq in wilts era and shaq scores 100 eaisly i see it as no contest, both play a powewr game and shaq is the most powerfull player the NBA has ever seen. However you put shaq agenst Jabbar, and it may be a different story, shaq would get his points and beat up kareem on offense but shaq has a problem dealing with finesse centers, and thier is no better finesse shot then the Sky Hook.
Playing to 100, losers outs, the ledgens take it 100 to 84, i give it to them for their team defense and size. Hakeem and wilt double-team shaq bird forces james to shot out side jumpers. Hakeem is quick enough to switch off the double team to take care of garnett. With the two center line-up the game is won in the paint by the legends.

Depends on which shaq. The shaq from the 90s or the current one. But either way Magic Mike Larry Hakeem and Wilt 5 of the greatest players of all time would probably win.

Ummm, why is Hakeek Olajuwan a PF in this 5 on 5?
At least make the teams fair. The Old school will tear new school apart just due to the matchup. You got three of the worst defenders in the new school team vs some of the greatest offensive players?
The matchup is almost too crazy.

Well it's obvious that the younger team would win. Considering Wilt is dead means it'd be a 5 0n 4. Plus the younger guys are in much better shape.

I think its obviously the guys from earlier NBA history. They actually played better defense than people like Kobe. Plus, who is going to shoot the ball between Lebron and Kobe, they are both ball hogs. Magic, Larry, and Jordan were great passes. Can you imagine the great passes they could have made?

the old school team would own. If shaq played the way he did in the 90's then the new school team would only lose by 2-3 pts!

The old schoolers in their prime would have kicked the **** out of the other guys. They would be putting points up in bunches with Larry and Mike and Wilt trying to out-do the other.

Both teams are equal strong.. However if i've to choose one, it would be Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett and Shaq.
