At the end of an e-mail / letter. Does anyone know what this means and why you may do it?

PP.....per pro......is when you are signing a letter ON BEHALF of somebody else as their representative, so, with their knowledge and permission.

It means on behalf of. Usually used if a person in an organisation writes a letter to you on behalf of somebody else.Say the Manager was J.Smith and the letter was composed and typed by his secretary H.Jones When you receive the letter it will have at the bottom something like"Yours sincerely, H.Jones per J,Smith,Manager. Sometimes the per is abbreviated to pp.This is exactly the same and is short for per pro which is Latin for "For and on behalf of"

To use the term "per", means "on behalf of", or "in the words of", or "as spoken by".
