Click Start => Settings => Control Panel => Administrative Tools.

After Administrative Tools comes up, click on Disk Management, then you should see each of your drives installed on the system. Right-click on the one that isn't showing up in the list of drives and choose the option to change its drive letter. Then choose a drive letter for it which isn't currently in use. Click OK, etc.

When you take these actions, next time you open My Computer you should see that drive available with its assigned letter.

Did you format the 80 GB hard drive? Normally hard drives don't come formatted for any particular operating system, and when you first install a hard drive it must be formatted to be used.

I'm guessing you're on Windows. For Windows XP (this also works for NT) go to the Control Panel, select "Administrative Tools", then "Computer Management", then select "Storage", then select "Disk Management(local)".

You'll probably see two rows at the bottom. On the left there will be disks referred to by numbers, and to the right there will be information about those disks. Your current drive should include a drive letter and say "healthy" (I hope). The other one should show up as something along the lines of "empty" or "unformatted". You'll want to right-click on it and select "format".

Two things may be happening:

1) The drive is not formatted properly for your operating system to show under MyComputer. Device Manager will always see it until formatted.

2) The drive is not configured as a Slave drive which you can do from the BIOS setup.

Assuming the First hard drive is jumpered to be the Master Hard drive and the second is jumpered to be the Slave drive, check the settings in the BIOS. If not, the jumper settings are printed on the hard disks themselves. Change them and re-boot.

TIP: If the BIOS can't see both drives, Windows can't either.

See the computer User's Manual to access the BIOS settings.

hi
1 must be set as master the other as slave
make sure in you bios they are detected.
If you cant see them on my computer might be a conflict in allocation
