I generally wash items that are black and white seperately. I find it best to just handwash them - this helps prevent the white bits going off colour!!

Yes, I know I'm a guy, but my mom owned a laundromat, so here's the answer. It all depends on the ratio of black to white. If it's 75%-25% black to white, wash it in the darks. If it's the other way around, wash it in the whites. Whatever the higher percentage is, wash it in that color. Hope that helps.

I think to start with you should wash it by hand to check that the black doesn't run into the white. If this is ok then put in with the whites

Darks, definitely. If you wash it with the whites, the black will run into the white and you'll end up with a black and grey top!

I think I would wash it by its self because I wouldn't want darks colouring the white or the black in the top colouring my whites.

I'd say your safest bet would be to wash by hand, although I cheat and put things like this in the washing machine on their own on a quick wash.

The safest thing to do would be to wash it on its own.
This way, you would know whether the black would run.
If it does or does not whichever the case maybe, you would
know what to do next time around.
Good Luck!

red pinny is a nice colour, it also will not clash with your black or white top but if it worries you that much clean it in the nuddy,
