my friend has a fishy smell about her most of the time, she is 58 years old now and she says she's not incontinent as such but has stress in continence at times where she just dribbles a tiny bit would this be enough to cause the problem. And if so what can be done and used to freshen her up a bit, it really is causing a problem, friends are keeping away, i just want to help.

I had this problem when I was pregnant (due to the pressure of the baby). Every time I laughed or sneezed, I would dribble a little. It's possible the smell is coming from a slight build-up in her underwear. She should wear a pantyliner and carry extras with her. She could also carry moist towels for quick freshness. Both of these items are available in small purse sizes.

It sounds like the dribbling could be part of the problem. Do you think she washes herself properly after episodes of dribbling? If not then this is certainly causing the smell.
The only thing I can suggest is hinting to your friend about female incontinence pads (eg. tena lady) which are designed specially for this problem or pelvic floor excersises.

I cannot believe that at 58 people go through dum crap like this, don't you people think your too old to talk about each other,or to even allow your other friends to talk about her,you should step up and come up with a plan together to help her,you and your other friends should be true friends and not stay away, that is so wrong, anyway she could have bacteria vaginosis, some kind of infection,I can't imagine urine smelling fishy.anyway talk to her in private let her know whats up,and when you do have a true friend talk with her knowbody else has to know just you and her if your being true about the situation, you don't have to tell your other friends you talked to her about it.

Gently suggest that she use moist wipes ( I use baby wipes) after going to the loo. She can also use tena lady pads or just panty liners. Tell her she can buy some intimate hygiene products such as Femme fresh, tell to use with caution as I found overuse of it gave me thrush.

this is quite a sensitive issue. why dont you take her to the local swimming baths so the chlorine can kill off that fishy smell but you cant be doing that every day. it does sound like some infection down below but its raising the subject without hurting her

She needs to be told...tell her that you are very sorry to tell her, but as a friend, you want her to know...if she gets upset, tell her you are only trying to help her, and that she might not be aware of the smell, and you don't want people to talk about her..then,.....see what happens...I think that she will be glad you told her.

She needs to wipe with a wet wipe every time she goes to the restroom
Also, a pantiliner will keep the odor from her clothes.

She needs to change her pads regularly and use femfresh wipes to clean up.
Suggest the femfresh range to her, they do all sorts.

All you can do is just flat out tell her about it. If you are her true friend then she will thank you for telling her, just say it nicely.
