I'm going to be in the hospital for 3 days for shoulder surgery.

Going in for open internal shoulder fixation. I broke the ball of the humerus which goes into the shoulder. About the worst place to break a bone im told. So I guss since its open surgery they need to watch me for three days. I'm scared out of my mind so i'm trying to think about more trivial things to stop panicking. I go tuesday am.

nice comfie clothing, a few books, a cross (if you're religious), that kinda thing.

My husband had shoulder surgery (arthroscopic surgery) and came home that same day. Why are you going to be there for 3 days? I guess i would take some pajamas and some magazines, books, slippers, pillow, blanket- whatever will make you comfortable while you are there.

Sweat pants (so your butt isn't hanging out when you go to the bathroom), clean undies and socks, deodorant, tooth brush/paste, brush/comb, books/magazines, a snack that you like. That way you won't always be depending on the buy nurses to bring you something with you are hungry.
Stay with the hospital gown on top--it will be easier to get on/off with your painful shoulder.

I've just packed a case for my mum....so pay attention !!!!!lol
Night clothes
Dressing gown
Slippers
Wash stuff.....not cosmetics or perfume
Toothbrush etc
All meds you are currently taking if any
Admission letter
A small amount of change
Bath towel
Hand towel
Paper tissues
That's it, I think. You should have been given a list , actually.

My mom brought PJ's...that is about all...u will be pretty outta it for those 3 days.
