my two turtles shells are usually very colourful, but today i noticed they were really pale and looked kind of dry. are they shedding them or something?

also, i had them in a plastic bowl about a month ago when i first got them and one got out and fell to the ground. she appeared fine, but a little stunned. now the other one has grown a lot but she has barely grown. would that have something to do with the fall?ta x

Well make sure you have a light because not enough light stunts a turtles growth. I mean a uv light not a homedepot light. Also plastic conducts a lot of germs thats why tanks are made of glass. Your turtle could have a disease caused by the plastic. I dought it has anything to do with the fall.
Ps. I think seeing a vet would benifit your turtle.

We have a 13 year old pet turtle who is doing very well. Do you know that at the pet store, you can buy "turtle wax" (seriously!) and use it on their shells. It's only about $4-6 bucks and lasts forever. It contains vitamins/minerals and moisturizers, and is very highly recomended by my vet. My turtle LOVES it when we do this.

Mine look dry for awhile after they bask for a few hours but it goes away. I don`t know about the fall thing. The turtle wax isn`t avaliable everywhere, there is no one who carries it near me.
