in regards to one of the answers i didnt have a cut to prevent me from tearing due to my sons hand being tied by the cord over his head as he came out sadly they didnt notice this to help prevent it and my hospital doesnt really offer the cut anymore which is darn annoying for me who has a major fear of stitching and needles. thankyou for your answer it is very appreciated and helps me feel better about the situation take care

Yes it is normal, and the other answerer is right, it is to do with the scar tissue stretching.

I had 28 stitches when I had my son (also a natural birth), and I'm now 35 weeks pregnant with nº 2, I've been having pains since I was about 30 weeks in the area where my scar is, and my doctor told me what it was...

No worries, but very uncomfortable!

Well its because of the scar tissue. Since you tore so badly and you had that many stitches, its going to be sore. Why did your doc not give you an epiosotomy to make room for the baby to come out?? Its not going to get any better either. Your only 32 weeks and have 8 more weeks to go and the last 2 months your baby gains 2-3 pounds (1/2 lb. every week the last month) so that baby is going to push and cause some pressure in that area. Speak with your doctor about it and tell him your concerned. Especially if your planning another natural birth- it is possible to re-tear that first injury. You DONT want that!! Good luck! Im 10 weeks pregnant with my 5th- so Im like a vet at this!!

Yeah especially if you got pregnant soon after the first child. The uterus is growing and stretching and putting a lot of pressure on everything. It's not uncommon for your old wound to hurt.
