I'm trying to work out if I've actually got the first signs of a bump yet or I'm just putting on weight from all the eating I've been doing? ('m nearly 16 weeks and had quite a flat tummy before - definitely not now but it just feels like a roll of fat around my middle.
Thanks

im in my second pregnancy and at first when i started showing signs i just looked and felt bloated however it was a baby bump depending on where my baby was depended on if my belly felt soft or hard it was more hard however after 20 weeks as baby starts growing alot then. i wouldnt worry about putting weight on during pregnancy as there is nothing really ya can do as dieting can harm baby aswell as certain excersising. you will be weighed during your pregnancy and if your midwife notices any large increases in weight they shall investigate if they think its a cause for concern. im 32 weeks now and feel like a huge football lol so dont worry its all probably natural and good luck with everything

My bump felt wobbly in the first part, then got more solid as things grew inside me.
I am now 35 weeks pregnant and my stomach is rock hard.

Well, I am 31 weeks and it is definitely hard. I was in very good shape when before I got pregnant and when I was around 16 weeks I remember just feeling fat. Once you get a little bigger it will feel hard. It is normal to be a little flabby at that point..... good luck.

I find that when I am sitting down its like 'fat' but when I lay down its like baby - When I went swimming it was clear that it wasn't fat though, I could feel my hips but the baby stood out. Just like another answer, I would say its like an egg or a ball in your tummy - quite cute really!! I am 18 weeks on Thursday! Take care xox

A baby bump should be pretty hard. I had the same questions during my first pregnancy. I had just been eating a lot, lol. But you're going to have a layer of fat there because you are taking in so many extra calories. But if all you feel is fat, then it's not the baby bump.

Everyone varies I think. Mine is still quite soft when I lay down but when I am standing it is rock hard at the top and a little squishy at the bottom. I am desperately waiting for my baby to drop as he/she is all up in my chest and it hurts! When I was your gestation I could feel like a grapefruit in there but I was not showing at all.

contained in the 1st few months it would not experience like something. the toddler isn't large sufficient. At approximately 18-20 weeks you start up feeling the toddler transferring. by utilising the time you truly have a bump it seems such as you have a a sprint individual interior you. that is lumpy and stressful and it strikes around. when you have the toddler...then that is floppy dermis for a mutually as!
