You hear people use the phrases..."Born a jew" or "Born a Christian".
No one is born any religion.
They are born to parents who practice their "CHOSEN" religion!

I even know a woman who still thinks she was born a Democrat!
She truly believes that because her parents are Democrats she has no other option but to be one as well!

Please tell me most or nearly all Americans know the difference....yeah!?!?!?

Just because you were born in Israel doesn't mean you have to be Jewish.

Just because you were born in Rome doesn't mean you have to be Roman Catholic.

You do realize that "Jewish" is a race... and a religion right.

I love people who make asinine statements like this then actually try to defend them.

You can be born Jewish. You can choose not to practice the religion... but it doesn't make you any less Jewish.

Please tell me that you know the difference.

I'm familiar with those ideas. Some of my dad's co-workers believe that they are Christians simply because they were born in America. I'm not sure how that works. The only thing I would disagree with you on is being 'born a Jew'. That one is tricky because being Jewish is an ethnic group as well as a religion. So it is possible (and happens regularly) to be born Jewish whether or not ones parents are observant or not. I find it better to say 'I was born into a...family'. That is much more accurate.

Some people are just so ignorant. You can be born into a family with certain views and religion but you are not born that way. I wish people would open their eyes and believe what they want. Not what everyone else wants.
