What political party are you?

The Democrats in the State of Wisoconsin are blocking this with all they've got! There was massive voter fraud in the city of Milwaukee (very liberal as is Madison) and Republican law makers wanted reform. The Democrats say it is RACIST to demand an ID - HOW IS THAT RACIST?

The WI Teacher's Union (they are mostly Democrats) is having a meeting soon and they need to vote on some issues. NO ONE will be able to vote for teacher's issues without a VALID ID!

Let's see - it's OKAY TO CHEAT if you vote for politicians but not okay if you vote for teacher's issues...hmmmmm?

ABSOLUTELY!

States have even offered to pay for them, for people who can't afford it.

Voter fraud is the only reason to oppose it.

Conservative. I tend to vote Republican.

Based on the last couple of presidential elections and all the cheating that went on. I would recommend an ID to vote. Why not? A driver license or something. That is a perfectly legal document intended as identification. For those who do not drive than a state issued ID card. By the way there should be proof of citizenship on DL because anyone can get one. Otherwise a birth cirtificate when registering to vote. Naturalization papers or passport needs to be required for voting. Non-citizens are not entitled to vote and should not be allowed. This would ensure each person voting is 1 a citizen 2 is who they say they are and aren't voting in place of a deceased person 3 easier to check against voting rolls to be sure they voted only once.

Yes, however ID laws need to be very lenient. Many people oddly enough to not have Photo ID. If a person neither drives or travels or draws any sort of benefits it is unlikely they will have ID.

I work for a courier company and you would be astounded how many people do not have photo ID.

If it was acceptable to take any valid government issuedd ID that would be fine. The fact is some people only have a birth certificate, citizenship or SIN card. These are all not generally accepted ID, however should be in the instance of voting.

I've always been surprised I DIDN'T have to show an ID to vote. How do they know I'm really who I say I am?

I'm not part of any political party. I do lean slightly to the right, but have voted both Republican and Democrat in past elections, and will again in future elections.

I by default always pull out my drivers license for identification when I vote. If picture ID is required, it would not make much difference to me. The only issue I have is how to get those that presently do not have photo ID into the game?

The other part of your question (ahem, comment) is silly. Comparing the two parties is one good one bad is goofy. THEY BOTH ARE ROTTEN! Both have had Senators and Representatives that have broken the law, pushed for pork barrel project etc...

As for my party affiliation? I'll let you figure that out.

it rather is in keeping with an absurd lie. in basic terms an fool might think of that an unlawful immigrant might danger a legal to vote illegally in an election. inspite of each and everything, even maximum people are especially intimidated by way of vote casting, so do not vote. the completely unproven declare that illegals vote is in basic terms area of the racist paranoia of the spectacular wing. the undertaking with id rules is that many undesirable people don't have the mandatory id, and don't know the thank you to bypass approximately getting appropriate id. the midsection type and prosperous have id because of the fact we like it; the undesirable in many situations do not desire id -- they don't have autos, they don't have credit playing cards, they don't have economic business enterprise bills. those rules are patently designed to disenfranchise the undesirable, who're disproportionately minorities. this could be an element of Republican racism.

So it's okay for Republicans to throw out the black vote but not okay for Democrats to request honest votes?

What a hypocrite!
